This skin hair system is our newest stock product for men. It can be delivered within 24 working hours after payment.

The whole base of this skin base hair system is 0.1mm super thin skin which is a little thicker than the skin of our HS1 (0.08mm). So, the lifespan is about 3-6 months.

Transparent thin skin means the wearer’s own skin color will be seen through it. Furthermore, a skin base is an ideal surface to apply tape and glue to and it is easy to clean up.

We use V-looped hair all over the base which creates a very natural appearance of the scalp. V-looped hair looks just like our own hair growing out of the scalp and it is this realism that has made it one of the most popular ventilation methods in the market. Note: For this V-looped hair system, we don’t recommend that you brush the hair when it is wet, especially after it has been soaked in hot water. Since it is knotless such action may result in hair shedding.

FAQ about these men’s toupees

Why choose a Swiss lace toupee over one with PU back and sides with a lace front?

Natural Look: Swiss lace offers a more undetectable hairline and scalp appearance due to its sheer, fine mesh, ideal for exposed hairlines. PU back/sides with lace front are less natural-looking at the back and sides due to the thicker PU material. Breathability: Swiss lace is highly breathable, perfect for hot climates or active lifestyles, while PU is less breathable and can feel warmer. Comfort: Swiss lace is softer and lighter, offering superior comfort, whereas PU can feel heavier and less flexible. Best For: Choose Swiss lace if prioritizing a natural look and comfort; choose PU back/sides with lace front if durability and ease of maintenance are more important (PU is stronger and easier for beginners).

How do I trim the extra PU to get the size I need?

Measure Your Bald Area: Use a flexible tape to measure the width and length of your balding area in inches (see earlier guide). Mark the PU: Place the toupee on a mannequin head or flat surface, and mark the PU areas to be trimmed using a washable marker or chalk, matching your measurements. Trim Carefully: Use sharp, small scissors to cut along the marked lines, removing excess PU. Trim slowly to avoid cutting too much. Test Fit: Place the toupee on your head to check the fit. Make additional small trims if needed. Smooth Edges: Use fine sandpaper or a nail file to smooth any rough edges for comfort. Tip: Practice on a spare piece of PU if possible, and consider professional help for precision.

Where can I get a haircut on one of these hair pieces?

Specialized Salons: Visit a salon or barber experienced in hair systems/toupees. Look for ones advertising "hair replacement" or "hairpiece styling" services. Hair System Retailers: Many toupee suppliers offer cutting and styling services, either in-store or via mail-in customization. Local Barbers: Some skilled barbers can cut toupees if you provide clear instructions and bring reference photos of your desired style. DIY Option: If confident, trim it yourself using professional hair-cutting scissors, a mannequin head, and a mirror, but proceed cautiously. Tip: Always bring the toupee installed on your head or on a mannequin head to ensure the stylist cuts it to blend with your natural hair.

How do I maintain a Swiss lace toupee?

Handle gently, wash weekly with sulfate-free shampoo, air dry, and store on a stand to preserve the lace.

These hair systems are so inexpensive. Is that because the quality is inferior?

Not Necessarily: Inexpensive hair systems can still be high quality, but several factors influence cost: Material: Cheaper systems may use synthetic hair (less durable, less natural) instead of human hair, or lower-grade lace/PU materials. Construction: Mass-produced systems are less expensive than custom-made ones, but may lack personalized fit or detailing. Hair Source: Lower-cost human hair may come from less premium sources, affecting texture and longevity. Brand/Retailer: Direct-to-consumer online retailers often cut costs compared to traditional salons, offering good quality at lower prices. Quality Check: Look for reviews, ask about hair type (human vs. synthetic), base material durability, and return policies. High-quality inexpensive systems exist, but extremely cheap ones (e.g., under $50) may compromise on lifespan or realism. Trade-Offs: Inexpensive systems may need replacing sooner (e.g., 1–3 months vs. 6+ months for premium systems) but can still look good with proper care. Tip: Balance cost with your needs—opt for mid-range systems if seeking quality without breaking the bank.
